The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The food was excellent too. It felt like we were staying in neighborhood gem, and not a commercial hotel. We loved it for that. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring the villages and countryside of the Perigord Noir.

Vitrac is small but there was a nice restaurant near the accommodation, at the Chateau de Monfort, just a few minutes walk.
The furthest we drove was an hour for sightseeing at Monteparnez and also to the Lascaux Caves. Good place to act as a base. Lots of varied things to see and do.

We only really overnighted at Vitrac, it wasn't a sightseeing stop.
It was a convenient stop after visiting Sarlat earlier and before visiting Rocamadour the next day.
I did walk to the riverside and caught a great view of the bridge before leaving and it was impressive.

Great restaurants nearby, particularly recommend the Ferme Auberge Le Colombier, wonderful duck menu. The hotel is idealy situated to visit the Dordogne region. A must is a visit to Le Roc Gageac and a boat trip on a Gabare or for the more adventurous try canoeing or kayaking.
We arrived on the 8/10 and stayed for 2 nights.
When arrived the staff was very pleasant and kind and offered us some free drinks to relax after the long trip we had.
The stay in the hotel was excellent! .
The rooms are big , clean and the beds are comfort.
The view is spectacular!
The hotel offers great restaurant to dine in, And a golf course.
The breakfast was and offered fresh ingredients like any good restaurant!
This is one of the best hotel we have stayed in france!
Highly recommended!!!
We spent a week at Le Rosier which is one of about 5 or 6 holiday accommodations set in the grounds of Le Petit Manoir de Vitrac. If you are in the area, I can recommend you stay here. The hosts were very friendly, and Anne speaks excellent English. It meant that I didn't have to put my schoolboy French to the test. The swimming pool was still open when we visited and was welcome after a day's sightseeing. The location in my opinion could not be faulted.
The hotel is newly renovated, light and airy. Very nice grounds, far from busy roads. Great views over the valley. Good casual dinning (didn’t try the other onsite restaurant). The terrace restaurant is a great experience in summer, especially with live music (frequent) and balloons in the air at the sunset. The babysitting services and the playroom is a plus! The outdoor swimming pool is nice. The indoor swimming pool was not open yet (August 2022).
A big thank you to the lovely management at the hotel …. super helpful after a late cancellation elsewhere had a late check in … management couldn’t do enough to help … also very kindly spoke to our next gite booking in french to help out .
Rooms are super clean hotel in lovely spot great location view fab whilst eating breakfast
thanks again great stay everything you need … well run hotel
It was ideally placed by the river Dordogne, with parking at the rear of the hotel. The rooms were large and spacious, and we had a a separate sitting room with chairs and a table. The bed was very comfortable and large. We had a good shower in the bathroom. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. Although we did not use the restaurant, it was overlooking the river and spacious.
Our recent stay at [Hotel Name] was nothing short of magical! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. This charming hotel proved to be the ultimate destination for a remarkable family vacation, and we couldn't have asked for a more delightful experience with our beloved child and wife
The hotel is a chateau that has been recently renovated. Everything is brand new. the rooms are beautifully decorated, super cozy and very comfortable. There is a golf course in the works that should be ready by summer 2023. The food is excellent and the ambiance is great. We will come back to lovely Dordogne and will stay again at the Domaine de Rochebois.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The food was excellent too. It felt like we were staying in neighborhood gem, and not a commercial hotel. We loved it for that. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring the villages and countryside of the Perigord Noir.
The room was airy, clean and spacious and the hotel is elegant and staff were kind and accomodating.
The pool is situated in a lovely gated garden just a couple of hundred meters away from the hotel and is partially covered, private and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Air-conditioning not strong but acceptable for this time of year. Room is big and clean. Swimming pool located 100m away from hotel was nice to have. Reception staff at check-in and checkout were friendly. We ate in the hotel restaurant, food ok and price reasonable.
Dinner in the on-site restaurant is magnificent. The bed was comfortable. The room we had (in an outhouse at the back of the hotel) is probably okay for a quick one night stay if you do not intend to shower.
Beautiful hotel, nice big comfortable bedroom, great location. The owners, Virginie and Eric, were so friendly and helpful. We can strongly recommend. Didn't use the pool but it looked great.
A larger traditional hotel in a small village, in the area of great natural beauty. Very friendly English speaking people. Picnic area and parking near the river. Generously sized bathroom.
